3. What happens if the second wheel is damaged?

The 8200 series uses an indirect sweep seconds design where the seconds pinion shaft is held by a spring metal retainer under tension. This design is known for some inherent “stutter” or “pause” characteristics—the hand may pause up to 2 seconds if struck. Worn parts worsen this issue. Timely replacement is recommended.
