This is a China‑made professional watch hand setting tool equipped with 10 rubber tips of different sizes, ranging from 0mm to 2.15mm in diameter. It is suitable for installing hour, minute, seconds, and chronograph central seconds hands. The soft and resilient rubber tips will not scratch or damage the hand surfaces during pressing, making it particularly ideal for precious‑metal coated or finely finished hands.
This tool is an excellent choice for watchmakers and DIY enthusiasts when replacing or installing watch hands, effectively replacing metal pushers to avoid leaving press marks.
10 rubber tips: Includes diameters: 0mm (solid flat tip), 0.3mm, 0.6mm, 0.85mm, 0.9mm, 1.15mm, 1.25mm (some may be marked as “1/15” or “1/4” for imperial reference), 1.55mm, 1.8mm, and 2.15mm – covering common hand tube sizes.
Rubber material: Made of high‑quality rubber or soft synthetic material with moderate hardness, it cushions pressure during pressing, distributing force evenly to avoid scratches, dents, or hand deformation caused by metal pushers.
Protects hand surfaces: Ideal for gold‑plated, rhodium‑plated, blued, or finely brushed hands, preserving their original finish.
Ergonomic handle: The handle features a non‑slip design for comfortable grip and stable vertical pressure application.
Universal compatibility: Suitable for most mechanical and quartz movements, including ETA, Rolex, Omega, Seiko, and other common calibers.
Portable set: Usually supplied in a clear plastic case or holder with clearly marked tip sizes for easy access and storage.
Repair value: An essential tool for hand installation, significantly reducing the risk of hand damage – ideal for both beginners and professional technicians.
Q1: Why does the hand tilt after pressing?
A: Possible causes: ① The tip diameter is too small and does not fully cover the hand tube end; ② The tool was not kept perpendicular; ③ The hand tube itself is bent or the movement’s hand tube is not vertical. Check tip selection and ensure vertical pressure.
Q2: Do rubber tips harden over time?
A: Rubber can gradually harden with age or exposure to adverse environments. Under normal use, a set of rubber tips can last several years. If they become hard or cracked, replace them to ensure hand protection.
Q3: Can I use this tool to remove hands?
A: No. This tool is designed only for pressing hands onto the movement. For hand removal, use a dedicated hand remover (hand puller); otherwise, hands or hand tubes may be damaged.
Q4: Some tip sizes are marked as “1/15” or “1/4”. What do they mean?
A: These are imperial fractional references. For example, “1/15” inch is approx. 1.69mm, and “1/4” inch is approx. 6.35mm. However, the actual diameter is given in millimetres. Always use the millimetre size as the primary reference.
Q5: Can all tips be used with the same handle?
A: Yes. The tool handle has a universal collet interface, and all 10 tips are interchangeable. Simply unscrew the current tip and screw in the desired size.
